Ambassador Program

Be the Welcome They Remember

The Havana Main Street Ambassador Program is more than a volunteer opportunity—it’s a chance to shape the first impression of our town and share what makes Havana special. Ambassadors are the friendly faces who greet visitors at our Welcome Center, housed in the iconic Slappey Building, and help bring our downtown to life. With every conversation, question answered, or local tip shared, Ambassadors strengthen the connection between our community and those discovering it. Whether you love history, enjoy meeting new people, or simply want to give back, becoming an Ambassador means becoming part of Havana’s future. Join us in keeping our doors open and our spirit shining.

What Ambassadors Do

Ambassadors volunteer in three-hour shifts at the Welcome Center, offering a warm hello and helpful information to guests and locals alike.

  • Greet visitors and answer questions
  • Share upcoming events and downtown highlights
  • Offer context about Havana’s history and landmarks
  • Provide light administrative support to the Executive Director
  • Help keep the Welcome Center a welcoming space for all

Where You'll Serve

Volunteers work from the historic Slappey Building—formerly Havana’s only bank and now a beautifully restored hub for hospitality. Through local support and dedicated grant funding, this space has become the heart of our community outreach. As an Ambassador, you’ll be part of preserving and activating this cherished local landmark.
